Sunday 17th May- Greece

Hi! Today, we had an extremely early start to our day,meeting at Newcastle airport at 4:30am ( we were exhausted)! We checked in, said our goodbyes and then boarded our plane to Amsterdam. By 8:30am, we had landed and quickly boarded our next plane to Thessalonki at Schipoll airport. Where we were greeted by the teachers of the Greek school- they even carried some of our suitcases to the taxi!
Finally arriving at Hotel Luxembourg, we hurriedly unpacked and made ourselves feel 'at home', before setting out to explore the local area. It was admirable-  it was extremely hot too. On our trip , around the town , we came across an ice cream parlour,which we passed, going to find some water. However, it was so irresistible, we couldn't leave it behind! With so many flavours to choose from it was definitely  hard work trying to choose just one scoop; we settled, finally , with our choices of Nutella, peach and mango and pavlova, we walked back to the hotel. ( with a promise of a quadruple scoop on Friday!) When we finish getting changed, we headed for something to eat ,after seeing the several options along the sea front: pizza and pasta , Greek specialities and salads.
Then coming back to our room for a reasonably early night to catch up on our sleep, ready for another early start tomorrow....
